The 2007-08 ACAMIS High School Fine Arts Conference at Concordia International School Shanghai is an enriching event for all Fine Arts students. Conference organizers, (all members of the fine arts faculty at Concordia International School Shanghai (CISS)), are proud to host this significant arts event.
The title of the conference, Pushing the Limits, Expanding Experiences in the Arts, defines the direction, concept and purpose. The goal of the conference is to provide students with quality, in-depth experiences in music, theatre and visual art, that would not ordinarily be offered during a typical school year. Decisions and selections regarding workshops, visiting artists, performances, and exhibitions have been determined by that philosophy.
The conference will offer high school (9-12 grade) students a taste of professionalism in music, theatre and visual art– to experience the potential of visual and performing arts in the larger world. Conference organizers strongly advocate that high school fine and performing arts education has a responsibility to present students with professional and personal experiences as a means of offering insight, inspiration, and growth that may guide students in their pursuit of the arts in higher education and beyond.
The events offered at the 2008 ACAMIS High School Fine Arts Conference this year will enlighten students toward that goal.
Conference organizers anticipate 250 visiting high school students from various international ACAMIS schools; young adults excited to pursue their talents in the fine and performing arts. Students will have the opportunity to take part in seven exciting, major clinics headed by renowned professionals in music, theatre and visual art. Fun will be had as well with our Arts Unlimited workshops.
Each school may bring a maximum of ten students. All ten students must have previous academic and performance related experience in their individual disciplines. All major clinics will be filled during registration on a first come, first served basis.
Register as soon as you can!
