MUSIC

Overview

The ACAMIS Fine Arts Conference, Pushing the Limits, will offer three opportunities for music students.  The choices are Band, Choir or Strings.

Each ensemble will be lead by a professional conductor who will select inspiring and varied repertoire.  The sizes of these three ensembles will allow for maximum sound and coverage of parts.  We are hoping for a Band of 60+ participants, a Choir of 60+ participants and a String Ensemble of 50+ participants.   Each ensemble will have proper distribution of instrument and voice parts; this will be handled during the registration process.

We are seeking experienced students which are currently enrolled in these ensembles at their home schools.  While this is not an auditioned festival ensemble – nor is it a competition - our desire is for schools to send the “cream of their crop” to participate!  With each school sending their best musicians, our ensembles will have the chance to soar to new heights!

Since enrollment is limited to 10 students per school, and since each ensemble has restrictions with part assignments (we can’t have a band of all saxophones and flutes…or a choir of all sopranos…or a string ensemble of only violins) we know that it will be difficult for you to choose which students should participate in the conference.  We are hoping that each school will select a few of their shining stars to come and share their talents.  Register early to avoid disappointment.
