General Music in the Elementary School Preschool classrooms are supported with music activities each seven day cycle for 30 minutes. The focus of activities is on movement and rhythm. All students, Kindergarten through Grade 4, meet twice in a seven day cycle for forty minutes. The skills and concepts presented support the Expected Student Learning Results (ESLRs) for all students at Concordia. All students are involved in two programs per year, one at Christmas and one in the spring. For those students who like to perform, Cherub Choir (grades 1 and 2), Spirit Choir (grades 3 and 4) and Orff Ensemble (grades 3 and 4)are available during After School Activities. While the repertoire of songs and musical selection may vary from class to class, all instruction reflects strong teaching methodology and is designed to address the national standards as laid out by the Music Educators National Conference.
